Conference Focus

The themes that we hope to address are anti-black racism, queer/trans*communities, disability awareness, sex workers and islamophobia. The purpose of this conference will be creating a platform for survivors and other subject matter experts to discuss how to improve services/ addressing barriers. We will have workshops for community members, anti-violence advocates, medical professionals, criminal justice professionals.

There will be note takers in each session during the event and a report of the discussions and information from the conference available afterwards on the SASC Ottawa webpage for the Ottawa community. The report will be used then to assist organizations in identifying what survivors of sexual violence need in relation to anti-oppression frameworks of service delivery.
