SASC Introduces Trusted Intermediary Advocates

What are Trusted Intermediary Advocates?

Starting a new life in a different country can be difficult, especially when you do not have anyone to turn to for help, support, or understanding. Adjusting to a new language, a new culture, and a new way of doing things can feel overwhelming, scary, and isolating. The Trusted Intermediary Program provides culturally appropriate services and advocacy based on the lived experiences and needs of survivors.

Join us for our first in-person workshop as part of the Trusted Intermediary Advocate Project on January 28th! This workshop will guide participants through key systems and supports in Canada, with each system explained in detail.

Workshop topics include:
• Legal system (police and court processes)
• Social services and community supports
• Healthcare system (primary and secondary care, hospitalization)
• Questions and shared experiences

In-Person Session (English, Arabic, and Farsi available)
Wednesday, January 28 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: St. Nicholas School.
