  • The Clothesline Project
  • Take Back The Night
  • December 6th Vigil for the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

What is the Women’s Event Network?  The Women’s Events Network (WEN), is a grassroots coalition of representatives from women’s organizations and interested women from the community who come together to organize 4 main community grassroots events each year:  The Clothesline Project, Take Back the Night, December 6 Vigil and the International Women’s Day Celebrations.

The group formed under the name Women’s Events network formally in 2002 and welcomes any women who would like to join forces and help plan the events.  WEN’S objective in organizing these events is to raise public awareness on the issue of violence against women and help the public understand what the impact of that violence against women is on individual women, children and on the whole community.  WEN is dedicated to working toward ending violence against women and sharing with the public – what they can do to help work to prevent and end this violence.

If you are interested in participating by volunteering your time to plan, or help with logistics at any of our events, please contact WEN at 613-230-6700 or write by email tocommunityevents@wiseottawa.ca

By “grassroots”, we mean you!
